Raul D. Campilho was born in 1979. In 2003 he graduated in mechanical engineering at Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), Porto, Portugal. He completed his M.S. degree in 2006 and his Ph.D. in 2009, both in Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), Porto, Portugal. Campilho currently serves as an Assistant Professor at ISEP and at Universidade Lusófona do Porto (ULP), where he teaches in the areas of mechanical engineering and industrial management. He is an active researcher in the fields of numerical modeling, finite element methods, cohesive zone models for fracture behavior, and adhesive joint design.

Dr. Gordon Huang is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Energy and Environment, and Executive Director of the Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Regina, Canada. He holds BSC from Peking University (China), MSc from Simon Fraser University (Canada) and PhD from McMaster University (Canada). Since the 1990s, Huang has led or been involved in over 100 environment-related research projects, produced over 600 peer-refereed international journal papers, and supervised over 100 Master/PhD students. He is the president of the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences. He has also served the United Nations as an international expert in the field of risk management for drinking water safety. The integrated simulation, optimization and risk assessment techniques which he proposed have been used by peers in studying water resources and environmental systems in a number of countries.

Dr Xing-Gang Yan received the B.Sc. Degree from Shaanxi Normal University, in 1985, the M.Sc. Degree from Qufu Normal University in 1991, and the Ph.D. Degree of Engineering from Northeastern University, China in 1997. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Control Engineering at the University of Kent, United Kingdom. He worked as a Research Fellow/Research Associate in the Northwestern Polytechnical University, and the University of Hong Kong, China, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He was a Lecturer in Qingdao University, China from 1991 to 1994. He is an IEEE member, IET member, HEA Fellow and a Charted Engineer. He received the Best Application Paper Award of ASian Control Conference (ASCC) in Fukuoka, Japan in 2019, and the Outstanding Editor-in-Chief from Bilingual Publishing Group in 2022. He serves as the member of the Editorial Board of several engineering journals including IET Control Theory and Applications, Journal of Franklin Institute, Complexity and Energies etc., and the member of TPC for a number of international conferences. He has published three books, six invited book chapters and over 200 referred papers in the area of control engineering. His research interests including sliding mode control, decentralised control, fault detection and isolation, and time delay systems with applications.

Prof. Tokeer Ahmad is graduated from IIT Roorkee and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi. Presently, he is full Professor at Department of Chemistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi since 2019. Prof. Ahmad has supervised 16 PhD’s, 84 postgraduates, 10 projects, published 219 research papers, one patent and three books with research citation of 9400, h-index of 57 and i10-index of 175. Prof. Ahmad is active reviewer of 199 journals, delivered 211 Invited talks, evaluated 69 external doctoral theses and presented 138 conference papers. Prof. Ahmad is the recipient of CRSI Bronze Medal, MRSI Medal, SMC Bronze Medal, ISCAS Medal, Inspired Teacher’s President of India Award, DST-DFG award, IIT Delhi Alumni Faculty Award, Distinguished Scientist Award, Dr. S. Goran Strbac is a Professor of Energy Systems, with extensive experience in advanced modelling and analysis of operation, planning, security and economics of energy systems. He led the development of novel advanced analysis approaches and methodologies that have been extensively used to inform industry, governments and regulatory bodies about the role and value of emerging new technologies and systems in supporting cost effective evolution to smart low carbon energy future. He is currently Director of the joint Imperial-Tsinghua Research Centre on Intelligent Power and Energy Systems, Leading Author in IPCC WG 3, Member of OFGEM RIIO-2 Challenging Group, Member of the UK Smart System Forum, Member of the European Technology and Innovation Platform for Smart Networks for the Energy Transition, and Member of the Joint EU Programme in Energy Systems Integration of the European Energy Research Alliance. Dr. Sheikh Islam is the Head of Engineering at University of Staffordshire, bringing over 13 years of experience in academia and industry to his role. Dr. Islam's prior teaching leadership positions include serving as an Associate Dean, an academic strategic lead (head of the mechanical engineering discipline), an academic Team lead, and a senior lecturer for mechanical engineering courses. Dr Islam gained his PhD from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen through research on computational fluid dynamics modelling of Proton exchange membrane fuel cells. His research interests include PEM fuel cell modelling, Vertical axis wind turbine, engineering design optimisation, multi-phase flow and heat transfer analysis for industrial applications. Dr. Balaram Kundu graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College Durgapur (Presently NIT Durgapur) in 1993 and post-graduated in Thermal Engineering from Bengal Engineering College Shibpur (presently IIESTS) in 1995. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 2000. His international journey began with a one-month visit to Saga University, Japan, as a Visiting Faculty in 2007. He then served as a Research Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, for two years and nine months under the prestigious Brain Korea 21 program. His global engagement continued with multiple visits to Hanyang University as a Visiting Research Professor. He has also conducted collaborative research in various countries such as Japan, South Korea, the USA, Thailand, Turkey, etc., showcasing his global perspective and potential for collaboration. He was also offered to join King Mongkut's University of Science and Technology, Bangkok; Keen Hee University, South Korea; and Inha University, South Korea, as a Research Scientist, Research Academic Professor, and Non-Tenure Track Full-Time Lecturer respectively. He was selected as a Senior Scientist for Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea (in 2013). He also received offers to join Jimma University, Ethiopia, and Thapar University, Punjab, as an Associate Professor and Professor, respectively (in 2015). In 2002, he had an opportunity to join the Indian Institute of Science and Technology Shibpur as a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Mechanics. The Public Service Commission of West Bengal also recommended that I join Kalyani Government Engineering College as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2000.

Ümit Deniz GÖKER received her Ph.D. on ‘Shock Wave Structures in Solar Plasma’ and attended a project on ‘The Design of Turbopumps Using Liquified Fuel and Cavitation Optimization’ in 2010 at the Ege University and İstanbul Technical University, respectively. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Bosphorus University between the years 2011-2017. She worked at the National Defence University, Air Force Academy, as an Associate Professor between the years 2018-2021 before she received her professorship status in November 2024. She was at the Czech Academy of Sciences, between the years 2022-2024 for Sabbatical Fellow. She is currently working as a Professor at Avrasya University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. Her research interests include Solar Physics, Near-Space Physics, Plasma Physics, Climate Change, and Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering.
